You are flying on a small prop plane with a group of your fellow Scouts headed for an adventure in the Canadian Rockies.
All of a sudden, you hear one of the engines sputter, feel the plane tip, and watch your can of Sprite spill in your buddy’s lap. Jolted to your senses, the booming sound of the Captain’s voice calmly announces throughout the cabin, “Crash Positions, please.”
With eagle-like reflexes and surgical dexterity, the Captain lands the wounded plane in a mountain valley miles from anywhere. With a leaking fuel line, the cabin begins to fill with fumes. In the organized chaos to exit the plane, three of your fellow passengers trip over their own luggage and twist both ankles.
Lost in the mountains. The injured can’t walk. It’s raining. It’s cold. And there is no shelter. Now what?
Does your Patrol have what it takes to bandage and splint an injury, make a stretcher, craft a shelter with a tarp and poles, tie the proper knots, build a campfire, and cook a tasty Dutch Oven dish and dessert?
Patrols will go head to head in Camp Capades. Who will complete the challenges first? Who will make the tastiest Dutch Oven dessert?
Please meet at Harter Road Farm, Sugar Grove United Methodist Church Property.
