Troop 41 has been interviewing Scouts from the past, researching history to write a Commemorative Newsletter to celebrate its 70th Anniversary (1949-2019). The Sugar Grove Historical Society hosted three Fireside Chats at the Bliss House with some of Troop 41’s Scouts from the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
The Dream Team of Historic Scouts included one of the very first Scouts in 1949, the sons of one of the men who started the Troop in 1949, two of the very first Eagle Scout brothers in the 1970s, and Scoutmasters now in their 70s.
They each had some great stories to tell, and they turned back into 12 year old boys right in front of our eyes!
